Waldlord is a big upstanding Hannoverian with 10" bone. He was bred in Germany by Johann Behrens and imported into the UK by the Louella stud as a foal He is a branded Hannoverian and is from the influential W Line. His Sire Waldheuter (17hh 1973) was graded in1976 and stood at Celle for several years Waldheuter had a dressage indexof 100 and an index of 113 for showjumping.His sire Walhorn had a dressage index of 106 and a showjumping indexc of 82 He sired 4 graded stallion sons (including the state stud stallions Waldgot,Waldheuter and Walhall)
Waldheuter's Dam Abgottin was one of 83 state premium daughters of the influencial stallion Absatz, who is ranked 40th (out of well over 800) in the all-time list of successful sires in Germany. He is particularly famous for his 39 graded sons such as Actuell (one of the topsires of dressage horses in the world today), Akzent 11 (best known in UK as the sire of the BWBS Grading Champion Azuro, Argentan and Allegro (sire of Baron B and the top Danish Stallion Diamond),
Waldlords dam Waldone bred 12 successful foals in her 16 years at stud. Many were retained by the breeder to compete, including a half sister and three half brothers to Waldlord. one of these half brothers is the successful showjumper Nobilis Amadeus B.
Waldlord has an outstanding pedigree to produce competition horses for both dressage and showjumping. Many of his successful progeny in the UK are not credited to him BC BHD. Of his recorded showjumpers perhaps the best known is the International Grade A Vulcan. He is a consistent sire of dressage horses and those that are recorded to him have gained him a place in the top twenty living sires for average progeny winnings.
He has had a successful if
light and late competition career, coming to the stud at twelve years old. He is
well known as an all round horse, competing dressage, showjumping and horse
trials. He has reached the National finals, in the Hereford Riding Club
team. He has also been a successful showjumper and regularly is ridden in
displays for Dressage to Music. With his ability in all disciplines, which he
passes on to his progeny Waldlord is an ideal sire to put on competition
mares to produce substance. He has sired County standard youngstock winning at
all levels throughout his stud career.
