Minstrel Star a British Bred TB was a successful racehorse as a three year old, winning 2 of his three starts. He was destined for a glorious career, coming from prolific winning lines on both the Sire and the dam side. His Sire Averof sired the winners of 476 races including many black type winners. His Dam herself a winner was the Dam of 6 winners. He therefore had a superb racing pedigree. Favorit for the Belmont, he was brought down. His injuries were so severe it was thought that he would never race again. He never regained his form, but fought back to win again. Retired to stud in 1989, he passed his ability on to his progeny, many of whom have had successful racing careers in Europe. His greatest contribution though has been to the performance breeding world. He was licensed to cover performance horses in Belgium and it is for the success of these progeny that he will long be remembered. He has sired eventers, dressage horses and showjumpers. In his short career in GB has left a wonderful legacy of talent. Many of them have gone to Europe, but he has left three stallion sons behind to carry on his line. Pembridge Minstrel Style went to Ireland from the stud to event and go to the IHB, He returned from Ireland following his success and is now back home. Minstrel Star's most notable son is Pembridge Minstrel. At 8 years old he had for two seasons lead the BHD rankings for Eventing Stallions under ten and is well up the ranks of the seniors. Minstrel has a long career ahead of him and carries his father on. Minstrels Dam was Pembridge Amethyst, a pure bred CB, who was a talented jumping mare. Minstrel therefore flies the flag for the British Bred Warm Blood, the Cleveland Bay. For information on Minstrel Star, his progeny and his stallion sons contact: kt@pembridgestud.com
