Pembridge Soloman (1989) Grade A Showjumper

Owned by K Newland MFH and Pembridge Performance Horses.

Soloman was from the second crop of Stunner Rascals' foals. He was bred from a proven dam who consistently produced tough competition horses.  Soloman is an own brother to Pembridge Mischief, who was one of Sherrys' last foals. After him their own sister Pembridge Charmain was lost , but their last own sister,  Trifle rising 6 is out eventing next time, having been stored and produced at Gabalva. Solomans' Dam is also the dam of Lapwing of Rushall (Ornamental Night) taken to Int by Graham Law and then exported to Sweden, where he is still eventing successfully. Also Sherry is the dam of Wayland Lady (Prince Mandarin) and Wayland Katie. (Hill Farmer) Lady is the dam of Pembridge Sheba, Pembridge Coacoa,  Pembridge Crackerjack and She's no Evil Katie is the Dam of Pembridge Honkytonk ( produced and shown with such success by Moggy Henessy and now a dressage horse) and Pembridge Sparkie.(eventer) ( dam of Pembridge Mayhem ex Waldlord.) Katies' last foal was by Minstrel Star and is certainly one to watch out for. Wayland Sherry and her two daughters produced over twenty successful competition horses between them, both prior and during their time in the breeding programme and there are  many of their progeny competing successfully in Affiliated Riding Club and in  County Ridden and Showing Classes as well as the affiliated disciplines .Soloman started his career in dressage until his then rider had a hunting fall  Having had his grounding we then sent him show jumping at which he proved successful, prior to his eventing career. We then moved him to Charlie Newland to continue show jump and event.  The plan was to hunt him that season and then event him the following spring. Keith Newland found him such an outstanding Masters Horse, that we let him remain a masters horse until he has now returned to the home stud to stand. He has a wealth of experience under his belt now and has proved himself a tough brave sound horse across country.

Pembridge Soloman & Keith Newland MFH.jpgSoloman has the most wonderful temperament. He is a byword with the field of the Enfield Chase. As a stallion he never puts a foot wrong in company and is the ideal temperament to sire top competition horse, coupled with his ability and his iron constitution. He is surely the right stamp to breed tough 4 star eventers.
