Pembridge Midshipman was named after his Sire, who played such a pivotal role in the production of pure bred stock, including many premium sons .Shippy as he is affectionately called, was selectively bred from the April Love dam line, to produce a modern athletic type of Cleveland, that can hold its own in competition against the sports horse. He has loose movement and an athletic jump. His dam Pembridge Jewel has been a most successful brood mare. She has produced purebred fillies that are winning at National level. Midshipman, her first foal is a premium stallion and Pembridge Juno, Juniper and Just J, her purebred fillies have proved themselves both in hand, under saddle and as brood mares. Her first partbred colt Pembridge Rocket is humself a licenced stallion. He will commence his show-jumping career with the Whitakers, who now own him in partnership with Panama sport horses. Jewel's next part-bred,  Pembridge Jamilia is by the Akhel-teke stallion Atamekaan, and was bred to event. Jewels 2004 foal, a purebred colt, Pembridge Justinian by Cholderton Yobi, has been sold to a stud as a future stallion.We sent Pembridge Midshipman and Pembridge Rocket to Panama Sporthorses, for assesment in spring 2004. They were impressed with both. Rocket they bought and thn sold to Lisa Whitaker and Midshipman came home to do the stud season. Pembridge Midshipman has also now graded BSJA and the two half brothers will be out there competing raising the profile of the CB
